Kurt de Pfyffer has more than 20 years’ experience in the finance and accounting industry in both the Fortune 500 and Big Four environments. As BGA’s market leader for the San Diego area, Kurt brings both his extensive knowledge of San Diego’s business environment – he has spent most of his career there – as well as an understanding of the community’s ties to and interactions with Japanese industry.
Prior to BGA, Kurt held various executive positions at Hewlett-Packard. From 2011 to 2016, Kurt served as director of HPE software; as acting vice president of corporate development integration where he oversaw ten integrations/divestitures ranging from $50 million to the company’s $2.7 billion acquisition of Aruba Networks; and as director of HP software, M&A integration and special projects where he led the Autonomy integration and oversaw companywide software migration efforts. From 2007 to 2010, Kurt was HP’s director of finance where he managed the full range of accounting and finance functions as well as overseeing M&A business operations and was the business unit chief financial officer for business intelligence solutions.
Earlier in his career, Kurt served as corporate controller at Bitfone Corporation and as director of finance/assistant corporate controller at Peregrine Systems, Inc. – both of which were acquired by Hewlett-Packard – and as finance manager at FICO. He began his career at Deloitte where as manager of audit and assurance services he oversaw engagements for high-tech clients.
Kurt is a certified public accountant (CPA). In addition to his MBA from the University of California at Irvine, he was a student at Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan. He is fluent in Japanese and has worked in the country.
